Organized in collaboration with Vinitaly, the world wine trade fair will bring together more than 7,000 buyers from all regions of Brazil
As a very promising consumer market, Brazil is getting ready to host the 4th edition of Wine South America. From September 12th to 14th, Bento Gonçalves will once again be at the center of the world wine map, attracting importers, distributors, retailers and sommeliers from all regions of Brazil who will be able to check out the labels of the main national and international producing regions.
The 2023 edition promises to surpass the success of the previous “harvest”. In 2022, there were more than 360 national and international brands exhibiting, 7 thousand buyers and trade professionals in 10 thousand square meters of area. The participation of national wineries will be even more representative this year.
In relation to international brands, the adhesion has also been successful due to Brazil being the largest country in South America and with the highest consumption potential on the continent. More than 10 countries are expected to participate in Wine South America 2023, with emphasis on Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, showing a wine panorama of the main launches and trends of the New and Old World.
The trade fair will also toast the expansion of the Brazilian wine market. According to research by Wine Intelligence, the Brazilian consumer is very curious when it comes to wines and seeks to taste products with new varieties, different producing regions and different appellations of origin.
Recently the region of Pinto Bandeira, in Rio Grande do Sul, received the certification of Denomination of Origin for sparkling wines, becoming the first D.O for sparkling wines in the New World.
Business Rounds: customized meetings
More than promoting and strengthening the wine industry, Wine South America aims to promote new business and expand the wine market in Brazil.
During the three days of the fair, buyers from all regions of Brazil will participate in more than a thousand business business rounds promoted at different points of the WSA. The fair, which is aimed especially at professionals in the wine sector, will bring together importers, distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, as well as liquor stores, wine bars, restaurants and hotels.
In the 2022 edition, the customized meetings promoted more than R$20 million in business.
