With more than 2,000 business rounds, the event connects buyers and producers in Brazil’s main wine region
The 5th edition of Wine South America, one of the most important wine business fair in Latin America, will take place from 6 to 8 May 2025, in Bento Gonçalves, a strategic region of Mercosur and recognized as the capital of Brazilian wine.
A region with great potential, the South of Brazil has the highest per capita consumption of wine in the country, is one of the areas with the strongest economy and brings together the most frequent wine consumers, who not only consume it on festive dates, but in their daily lives.
“WSA is a business environment that reinforces the importance of brand visibility, taking place in one of the largest wine-consuming regions in Brazil. We receive a large volume of buyers from Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná, which are very important markets for the sale and consumption of wines in the country,” explains Marcos Milanez Milaneze, director of WSA.
Previously scheduled to take place in September, WSA now takes place in May, a positive change, desired by producers and buyers, and highlighted by representatives of the sector: now, the calendar of events of the wine sector gains an international fair in the first half of the year, a promising period for the market, which organizes itself for winter sales and structures its actions for the second half of the year.
“We will bring together producers, importers and buyers from all over Brazil for three days dedicated to the wine business and offering content to the public. We will intensify business meetings, forums that connect professionals to share experiences and information, and themed tastings with experts,” explains Marcos Milanez.
One of the great advantage of Wine South America is the business rounds, which establish contact between qualified buyers from Brazil and abroad with exhibitors, to stimulate the domestic market and exports.
In its 5th edition, the fair is expected to promote more than 2,000 meetings, consolidating as a platform for bringing together qualified buyers and fostering relationships and sales in the wine world.
Among the other actions to increase the visibility of exhibiting brands is the National and International Image Project, which brings journalists and wine influencers from Brazil and other countries to the event to learn about and promote the highlights of the fair.
Among them are the wine tourism offers presented by wineries, which have consolidated Rio Grande do Sul as one of the most searched destinations for wine lovers.
WSA is the only trade fair in Brazil that provides buyers with a complete immersion into the country’s main wine region. In addition to offering exclusive tasting experiences in the wineries, the event allows buyers to identify business opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships and get a closer look at the production processes of some of the beverages on display, experiencing the history and passion behind each label.
The wine world in WSA
For 2025, Wine South America has already confirmed the participation of brands from 20 countries and more than 360 national and international brands.
In addition to the launches and highlights of the main Brazilian wineries, the fair will bring together producers from Spain, France, Portugal, Georgia, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Italy – which this year should double the size of its collective stand promoted by ICE-ITA.
Wine South America is aimed at professionals in the segment: importers and exporters; distributors and wholesalers; supermarkets and hypermarkets; bars, restaurants, hotels and specialized stores.
